How we make money
Right now MeasuredCost earns nothing. It is free to use, with no sign-up, no ads, no affiliate links and no paid partners. We do not sell your data and we do not pass you to contractors.
Running the site takes real work, so as it grows we plan to earn money in the ways below. Before any of them starts, we will update this page and mark it clearly on the pages where it appears:
- Advertising. Ads shown in reserved spaces below the calculator result. Advertisers do not choose or see our estimates in advance.
- Affiliate links. If you buy a product through some links, the retailer may pay us a commission. Pages with affiliate links will say so near the link.
- Quote requests. If you ask to be contacted about your project, we may pass your request to contractors or contractor-matching services and be paid for it. The form will always name who receives your details, and we will only share them with your consent.
What money never changes
- Partners never pay to change a cost range or the wording of a guide.
- We show the same estimate whether or not a page has a quote form or ads.
- We do not rank or recommend contractors for payment.
